Are all of you ready for Super Show 4 in Singapore this coming weekend? (:

For this upcoming concert on the 18th and 19th of February in the Singapore Indoor Stadium, we have specially planned a fan project — Project White Light! We are currently planning a word formation project to take place on the 19th February concert as well, but it is currently on hold as we are waiting for a reply from Running Into The Sun, the organizer for SS4SG. We’ll keep you updated!

So here are the details for Project White Light, and how you can help to make our projects a success:

PROJECT WHITE LIGHT

Project White Light has two parts, for day 1 and day 2. Day 1 will be during Lovely Day, and Day 2 will be done during Storm. For both days, the formation is the same- the entire stadium will start off dark, and gradually fill with white light.

Format

This is an example of what will happen. Of course, this is only a rough sketch, but basically the lights will start from mosh pits A and B, and move on to C/D + side terraces. From there, up to back terrace and balcony, and the whole stadium will be filled with pretty star-like white lights! Once your lights are on, leave them on until the end of the song, then you can switch back to your normal lightsticks.

What to use for lights

We’ll be using our phones for this project, so for those with smartphones, just search ‘flashlight’ in your respective download stores and tons of apps will appear! Some suggestions are iLight for iPhone, Color Flashlight for HTC and Android, and One Touch Flashlight for BB.

For those who do not have smartphones, you can bring a small flashlight/torchlight and use that. Those who attended SS2Malaysia and still have your working thumblights, bring those! Reminder not to shine those in the members’ faces, though! All torches/thumblights should be pointed upwards! The light can injure people.

For those who really have no means of bringing a white light, we’ll be around before the show with a limited supply of white thumblights! More info on where to find us comes later. ^^

When to start turning on

Before Project White Light commences, ALL LIGHTSTICKS SHOULD BE TURNED OFF. We want a completely DARK stadium!

Day 1: They start off by singing “I wanna hold your hand/I wanna kiss your lips/I wanna fall in love with you/Must be beautiful lovely… day”. The moment they sing ‘DAY’, pens A and B start the cascade.

Day 2: Once Donghae starts to sing his first line, pens A and B start turning on your white lights.

Signalling

For Day 1, the members will probably be talking a bit before Lovely Day. While the members are talking, TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTSTICKS. We will have signaling from section 210 to cue you to start turning on your flashlights, but due to the lighting in the stadium, it might be hard to see. So make sure you know when to turn off your lightsticks and when to turn on your white flashlights, and remind the people around you to do so as well.

For Storm on Day 2, please make sure you know when to turn off your lightsticks and when to turn on your white flashlights! Whether there will be signaling has not been confirmed– more details will be released later, so stay tuned!

We plan to make the entire stadium look like a sky of stars! Those of you who attended SS2Malaysia would probably remember the fan project during Shining Star. We’re doing something like that!

How can you help

We are currently looking for volunteers in each section (Mosh pitts, arena, terraces, balconies and PRVs are all included) who will be able to help us spread the message. All you need to do is to remind the fans in your sections to turn off their sapphire blue lightsticks and turn on their white flashlights at the correct moment. Anyone can help and the task is really simple, so please tweet to @fishyplankton the section/pen you are at so that we know that each section/pen has been accounted for. The more volunteers the better!

And so here are the full set of instructions for anyone who will be attending SS4SG!

[SS4SG] INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROJECT WHITE LIGHT!

For those on Day 1

1. Remind your section/pen to turn off blue lightsticks when members are talking before Lovely Day! (this should be after either Storm or Y– we’re not sure whether Y is still in the list of songs to be performed.) If you’re not sure, here’s a fancam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k97nqnnvdpc

   The stadium should be completely dark right before the song starts!

2. Then remind your section/pen to turn on white flashlights after the first chorus!

   For those in Pen A or B– the members will sing “I wanna hold your hand/I wanna kiss your lips/I wanna fall in love with you/must be beautiful lovely…DAY” When the members sing “day”, both pens should light up! If you are not sure, please keep an eye out for a white light signal (which will be shone in the direction of pen A and B) from Section 210. The signal might be a little hard to see, so it would be best if you knew exactly when to turn off the blue lightsticks and turn on the white flashlights!

   For those in side terraces (208-217, 225-234)or Pen C/D– Once you see pen A and B light up, start lighting up as well!

   For those in front terraces (218-224)/arena (119-123)– Once all the mosh pits fully light up, then you light up!

   For those in balconies (308-314, 318-324, 328-334)– Once you see all terraces and mosh pitts light up, light up as well!

   NOTE: For those in mosh pitts (Pen A/B/C/D), please help us to spread the project to others in the mosh pitt queue as well!

For those on Day 2

1. Remind your section/pen to turn off blue lightsticks during Storm VCR (here’s a fancam of the VCR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3iAoUt4aiw)

   The stadium should be completely dark when the song starts!

2. Then remind your section/pen to turn on white flashlights when Donghae starts singing! (fancam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S_duRX86Vk)

   For those in Pen A or B– turn on your white flashlights the moment Donghae starts singing!

   For those in side terraces (208-217, 225-234)or Pen C/D– Once you see pen A and B light up, start lighting up as well!

   For those in front terraces (218-224)/arena (119-123)– Once all the mosh pits fully light up, then you light up!

   For those in balconies (308-314, 318-324, 328-334)– Once you see all terraces and mosh pitts light up, light up as well!

   NOTE: For those in mosh pitts (Pen A/B/C/D), please help us to spread the project to others in the mosh pitt queue as well!

• Why I love Super Junior? I wasn’t into K-Pop when Super Junior debuted, I started noticing them only after they released Sorry Sorry (in my opinion, THE song that shot them to superstardom and got them where they are right now). My first impression of them was “Why so many members?” and “What’s with the haircut?” While watching EHB, it was then when I realized that these boys began to grow on me. They have a nonchalant approach to fame and they don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s a quality I rarely find in other K-Pop groups. I realize in Korean entertainment world, idol images are shaped and they have to maintain that, but every so often, with SJ members, their real personalities appear in interviews, variety shows, radio broadcasts and especially Super Show. They way they interact with each other make me feel like I’m watching the boys-next-door, approachable, funny, dorky and humble. I guess that imperfection shows that they are real and relatable.
  
  Why I love TwELFs and SPL? When I first started collecting information about Super Junior, I stumbled upon several fanbases, but TwELFs stood out to my attention immediately for several reasons: quality content, good English, pleasing to the eyes & easy to navigate.Like any other new converts, I joined in the fandom bandwagon and participated with gusto especially on Trending Topic projects. I was surprised to know that TwELFs founders were still in college, because they ran a tight ship with the blog and Twitter account. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I communicated via Twitter with the founders, because they were so friendly and unpretentious. TwELFs blog has meaty content without sacrificing entertainment value. It is informational without sounding too serious and at the same time, provides all the fun tidbits for fans –newly minted or veteran.
  
  SPL is oozing with creativity (e.g. forum members referred to as Students and Super Junior members as Professors!) and over a short period of time has gained the reputation of being one of the most acclaimed international forums for ELFs. SPL keeps making changes for the better and continues to carry out credible projects for Super Junior and ELFs. SPL is a labor of love, and I salute the people behind it, who are such dedicated hard-workers.
