Kangin’s drunken hit and run accident, Kangin will be fined 8 million won
On January 13th, Seoul District Public Prosecutors’ Office has decided to filed a summary indictment against Kangin for his DUI and hit-and-run back then in October, 2009. Kangin will be fined 8,000,000won (about $7,125) and he can avoid being imprisoned.
Super Junior Kangin (real name: Kim Youngwoon) assault cases received deferred prosecution, as confirmed by the official.
On September 16, Kangin was in a pub in Gangnam, Seoul, in which he was involved in an assault case along with two other suspects as well as Mr. Kim’s staff.
There was an act of violence and thus disciplinary action should be taken as a punishment for violating such law, but no criminal charges involved. The police indicates that they have deferred the prosecution and disposition.
However, he is still held responsible for his action so if in the future, such crime is committed, the law may be enforced and used against him at the discretion of those who is in charge of the inspection. In other words, it was determined that the law enforcement agency will take legal action should the case once again be prosecuted for the same incident.
On October 16 at 3AM, he got himself into a DUI case after ramming his car into a taxi in Gangnam. This particular case has yet to be resolved and still awaiting for punishment.
Meanwhile, this act of violence and a drunken hit and run incident have put a stop to all of Kangin’s activity at the moment.

Super Junior’s Kangin (Kim Young Woon, 24) had a drunk hit and run issue which had already been highly criticized and disapproved at, but the controversy grows bigger with this picture he took with a woman at the bar from where his first incident occured.
Since the 18th, different websites posted the picture which was captured from the woman’s mini homepage and netizens tried to figure out when the picture was uploaded; however, the exact date of the photo was unclear due to the many edits performed on it.
The woman with Kangin in the photo just put up the picture with the words “I was lucky. He’s fun and talks well and drinks well and he’s handsome but he needs to improve his language (needs to stop cussing).”
After the netizens discovered the woman’s mini homepage, she was attacked and even her personal information was revealed.
One netizen said “I don’t understand why this woman would upload such a photo right in the midst of such Kangin’s current controversy”
Others were throroughly disappointed in Kangin yet again. Netizens also said “He’s an idol singer who depends on his image because it’s his job; why in the world would he agree to take such a photo?” “Is his job in the entertainment industry a mistake?” etc.
Other netizens fired back saying “He was drinking at a bar with a woman and took a picture, why does that make you so angry?” and these people expressed that there is nothing majorly wrong with taking the harmless picture.
Meanwhile, Kangin’s company, SM Entertainment, spoke out on his drunk hig and run incident and announced that he is banned from any activities at least until the end of the year.
i’m not trying to be biased here but… what is so wrong about taking picture with a woman in a bar?? what is wrong is the fact that the lady had to post it up in her cyworld.. that’s not appropriate.. and it’s not even a picture of kangin holding a glass of beer and got drunk.. okay well, i’m being a little biased
While chatting with a Thai ELF who is the organizer of “Believe Kangin” project (i will post about this later in the day) last night, she revealed that Kangin will come to Thailand for a new series of Yamaha Fino CF along with Leeteuk, Shindong and Eunhyuk. The scheduled date is October 22-24.. I cannot say much about this especially with all these controversies… As always, I’ll report back with more details once it’s been confirmed.
Thai ELFs will be holding another project for Kangin during the filming.. Hopefully, it will cheer him up..
If it’s true… this series will most likely to be a blast!! I mean, Leeteuk + Eunhyuk + Shindong + Kangin??? LOL all mood-makers in one pack..

Why I love Super Junior? I wasn’t into K-Pop when Super Junior debuted, I started noticing them only after they released Sorry Sorry (in my opinion, THE song that shot them to superstardom and got them where they are right now). My first impression of them was “Why so many members?” and “What’s with the haircut?” While watching EHB, it was then when I realized that these boys began to grow on me. They have a nonchalant approach to fame and they don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s a quality I rarely find in other K-Pop groups. I realize in Korean entertainment world, idol images are shaped and they have to maintain that, but every so often, with SJ members, their real personalities appear in interviews, variety shows, radio broadcasts and especially Super Show. They way they interact with each other make me feel like I’m watching the boys-next-door, approachable, funny, dorky and humble. I guess that imperfection shows that they are real and relatable.
Why I love TwELFs and SPL? When I first started collecting information about Super Junior, I stumbled upon several fanbases, but TwELFs stood out to my attention immediately for several reasons: quality content, good English, pleasing to the eyes & easy to navigate.Like any other new converts, I joined in the fandom bandwagon and participated with gusto especially on Trending Topic projects. I was surprised to know that TwELFs founders were still in college, because they ran a tight ship with the blog and Twitter account. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I communicated via Twitter with the founders, because they were so friendly and unpretentious.
TwELFs blog has meaty content without sacrificing entertainment value. It is informational without sounding too serious and at the same time, provides all the fun tidbits for fans –newly minted or veteran.
SPL is oozing with creativity (e.g. forum members referred to as Students and Super Junior members as Professors!) and over a short period of time has gained the reputation of being one of the most acclaimed international forums for ELFs. SPL keeps making changes for the better and continues to carry out credible projects for Super Junior and ELFs. SPL is a labor of love, and I salute the people behind it, who are such dedicated hard-workers.
