The 2010 FIFA World Cup is coming, and even the biggest K-pop idols are now the fans when it comes to supporting the South Korean national team. Super Junior members Lee Teuk, Shin Dong, Eun Hyuk, Sung Min, and Ye Sung lead the cheers with their energetic World Cup fighting song Victory Korea. The ultra-catchy anthem is also the theme song for the new soccer movie On the Pitch. The Victory Korea single comes with the song in three versions including instrumental and OST version.

Korean female duo Davichi claimed the No. 1 spot on the Gaon singles chart with their latest single “Time, Please Stop” for the week of May 9 to 15.
According to the chart on Thursday, Davichi climbed up five slots to first place, knocking out former winner f(x) off the top.
Davichi, composed of members Lee Hae-ri and Kang Min-kyung, recently returned to the local music scene with their third mini-album “Innocence.” The girls have topped several other online music charts with their title track “Time, Please Stop.”
“Super Star K-Season 1″ winner Seo In-guk jumped up three positions from the previous week to rank in second with his tune “I Love U,” while f(x)’s “NU ABO” followed behind to round out the top three singles.
Meanwhile, the fourth album “BONAMANA” by boy band Super Junior became the best-selling album on Gaon’s weekly albums chart during the third week of May.
Red Devils’ new cheer album “The Shouts of Reds” re-entered to charts at No. 2 and Vibe’s new fourth full-length album “Vibe in Praha” successfully bowed in at No. 3.

Super Junior’s 4th album “Bonamana” has been receiving huge feedbacks and has broken the record for selling the most albums in the shortest amount of time. They had the record for selling 70,000 albums in 5 days but now, they have sold 100,000 albums after 8 days from album release!
According to album sales chart Hanteo on the 20th, from the 13th where it was released, Super Junior’s “bonamana” version A on the 18th that their album sold over 72,271 album record sales, then on their report on the 20th that there were additional 23,088 album sales making a total of 95,359 albums in just 8 days after release.
Also, their “bonamana” version B album is also doing well in album sales, it sold about 13,047 albums after it’ release. Super Junior was already foreseen prior to release of album to have a hot reaction from fans.
Last May 12, SM entertainment said that their album received huge pre order demands. It got 64,800 online album pre orders and had 133,685 offline album pre orders which totalled to 198,485 albums for pre orders. The album has reached its “album jackpot”
Their 3rd album “Sorry Sorry” reached album sales of more than 250,000 and Super Junio is one of the best selling artist’s of the music industry earning them a Golden Disk Award.
Yesterday , Hangeng, who hasn’t yet ended his lawsuit case appeared on the opening ceremony of ‘New Power Music Plan’, organized by Enlight Media Group. Yuan Weiren said that they are now helping Hangeng for his new album. According to what the reporters had known, Hangeng will have his new career after leaving the band. The new album that Yuan Weiren had mention is expected to be released by two months later from now.
The ‘New Power Music Plan’ is aiming the new singers, and during July to November they will record the creations of those new singers, and combined into 5 albums. 5 experienced musicians, Zhang Yadong, Yuan Weiren, Gao Xiaosong, Paul Wong and Xiao Ke are going to be the producer of these 5 albums.
Other than Zhang Yadong, (Ziao Ke wasn’t’ available), 3 other musicians came to the opening ceremony yesterday, together with Hangeng who was the guest. Having Hangeng standing in the middle, it really feels like a large group of people protecting and supporting a new star. Seeing the other experienced musicians, Hangeng was very humble, always saying that he’s ‘excited’. As the lawsuit hasn’t yet finished, Hangeng spoke very carefully and formally, he mentioned that he will be joining this singer selection, hoping that his new songs could be recorded in those 5 albums. He even said “I’m very greedy, and if I have a chance, I wanted these 5 musicians help me to produce an album. Yuan Weiren who was standing aside suddenly said that he was preparing the new album for Hangeng, and had already received half of the works. Meanwhile, Gao Xiaosong is discussing the contract terms with Hangeng.
Because of the oppression and exploitation, Hangeng decided to sue his litigation in the Korea Court, hoping to end the contract with SME, and then Hangeng will have a different path as Super Junior, not attending the concerts as well as any public activities of their new album.
As the law case hasn’t yet ended, Hangeng didn’t accept any of the interviews, than Yuan Weiren, Gao Xiaosong became the reporters target, asking them about Hangeng’s news. Gao Xiaosong was apparently feeling a bit annoyed, he said “I hope the newspaper tomorrow won’t be talking about ‘me and Yuan Weiren have made a new album for Hangeng’, actually I was just compromising the cooperation with Hangeng , and those are related to dancing and singing, not the new album.” According to the reporters, Hangeng hadn’t yet signed contract with the recording company, but he will after the law case has ended. The new album that Yuan Weiren had mentioned is expected to be released two months later.

Why I love Super Junior? I wasn’t into K-Pop when Super Junior debuted, I started noticing them only after they released Sorry Sorry (in my opinion, THE song that shot them to superstardom and got them where they are right now). My first impression of them was “Why so many members?” and “What’s with the haircut?” While watching EHB, it was then when I realized that these boys began to grow on me. They have a nonchalant approach to fame and they don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s a quality I rarely find in other K-Pop groups. I realize in Korean entertainment world, idol images are shaped and they have to maintain that, but every so often, with SJ members, their real personalities appear in interviews, variety shows, radio broadcasts and especially Super Show. They way they interact with each other make me feel like I’m watching the boys-next-door, approachable, funny, dorky and humble. I guess that imperfection shows that they are real and relatable.
Why I love TwELFs and SPL? When I first started collecting information about Super Junior, I stumbled upon several fanbases, but TwELFs stood out to my attention immediately for several reasons: quality content, good English, pleasing to the eyes & easy to navigate.Like any other new converts, I joined in the fandom bandwagon and participated with gusto especially on Trending Topic projects. I was surprised to know that TwELFs founders were still in college, because they ran a tight ship with the blog and Twitter account. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I communicated via Twitter with the founders, because they were so friendly and unpretentious.
TwELFs blog has meaty content without sacrificing entertainment value. It is informational without sounding too serious and at the same time, provides all the fun tidbits for fans –newly minted or veteran.
SPL is oozing with creativity (e.g. forum members referred to as Students and Super Junior members as Professors!) and over a short period of time has gained the reputation of being one of the most acclaimed international forums for ELFs. SPL keeps making changes for the better and continues to carry out credible projects for Super Junior and ELFs. SPL is a labor of love, and I salute the people behind it, who are such dedicated hard-workers.
