Yesterday, we decided to trend Choi Siwon for his “on-paper-only” birthday. We used the term “on-paper-only” because February 10th, 1987 is when his parents registered him on. We wanted to save the unique hashtag for his real birthday, which is on April 7th. It might seem redundant, but we had to go with the majority, which was to “TREND BOTH”.

To our surprise, some important events actually occured in conjunction of this. It might be just his “fake” birthday yesterday.. BUT Siwon thanked his fans for the birthday wishes.. the US Citizens got over excited and mentioned Choi Siwon TWICE on their tweets, pushing “Choi Siwon Choi Siwon” to the top of the list.. and a well-known UK media “The Independent” mentioned Choi Siwon being one of the trending topics in one of their articles, as quoted below:

Even though it is impossible to expect the mention of yesterday being his “on-paper-only” birthday, it was definitely more than enough for us. Well, actually hoping they would be kind enough to mention us (TwELFs) as the trend initiator but…. of course it’s hard for them to track back.. or for anyone else for that matter. Ever since we got bigger, no one would even bother to credit us.. so we’re kinda get used to it. ^^

For the record, we trended him for 7 HOURS and Choi Siwon broke #sorrysorry record on “Fastest Appearance” category. Well done everyone…

i don’t know where you are right now.. i don’t care where you are right now… all i want to know is that you are grateful to have Super Junior as part of your life.. Super Junior is not just a group of entertainers who exist for the sake of business. You all have gone through so much that there’s nothing that will break you apart. It is impossible to expect all 13 of you to share the same opinion or thoughts, but seeing you manage to get it all together and continue to thrive make us all proud to be fans of yours.

Some people hit rock bottom in their lives.. Some people make mistakes.. Some people are just well.. unlucky.. but keep in mind that having someone beside you while you’re at it is something that some people could only imagine~ we as fans will continue to support you no matter what, just like how the other boys do. Yes, we know it’s been awhile since we did another round of SujuPoll.. there were a lot of other things we had to cover so we decided to let this one go until we could fix things up. • Why I love Super Junior? I wasn’t into K-Pop when Super Junior debuted, I started noticing them only after they released Sorry Sorry (in my opinion, THE song that shot them to superstardom and got them where they are right now). My first impression of them was “Why so many members?” and “What’s with the haircut?” While watching EHB, it was then when I realized that these boys began to grow on me. They have a nonchalant approach to fame and they don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s a quality I rarely find in other K-Pop groups. I realize in Korean entertainment world, idol images are shaped and they have to maintain that, but every so often, with SJ members, their real personalities appear in interviews, variety shows, radio broadcasts and especially Super Show. They way they interact with each other make me feel like I’m watching the boys-next-door, approachable, funny, dorky and humble. I guess that imperfection shows that they are real and relatable.
  
  Why I love TwELFs and SPL? When I first started collecting information about Super Junior, I stumbled upon several fanbases, but TwELFs stood out to my attention immediately for several reasons: quality content, good English, pleasing to the eyes & easy to navigate.Like any other new converts, I joined in the fandom bandwagon and participated with gusto especially on Trending Topic projects. I was surprised to know that TwELFs founders were still in college, because they ran a tight ship with the blog and Twitter account. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I communicated via Twitter with the founders, because they were so friendly and unpretentious. TwELFs blog has meaty content without sacrificing entertainment value. It is informational without sounding too serious and at the same time, provides all the fun tidbits for fans –newly minted or veteran.
  
  SPL is oozing with creativity (e.g. forum members referred to as Students and Super Junior members as Professors!) and over a short period of time has gained the reputation of being one of the most acclaimed international forums for ELFs. SPL keeps making changes for the better and continues to carry out credible projects for Super Junior and ELFs. SPL is a labor of love, and I salute the people behind it, who are such dedicated hard-workers.
