You guys do remember next week, as at November 6, 2009, is the boys’ 4th anniversary right? … and of course we have prepared something to celebrate that very special moment… we are THE TWITTER ELFS.. and as the name suggests, our project is actually quite predictable and simple. MAKE #superjunior A TRENDING TOPIC!! but let’s not forget someone who has been through a lot in the past few weeks.. someone who has done so much to the group… someone who is in need of our supports the most.. that guy is Kim Youngwoon.. and as true ELFs, we choose to STAND BY KANGIN! We sure don’t want to leave him out of the celebration and that is why we will MAKE #standbykangin A TRENDING TOPIC too!!
So how can we make that happen?
If you’re long enough to be a part of us, you are probably aware of our very first attempt to make #superjunior a trending topic.. We have learnt so much from our mistakes and now that we have received inputs from so many different sources, we’d like you to please read through the instructions provided below with care.
It’s our dear Fishy’s birthday.. he officially turned 23 (24 if using korean age system) a few hours ago.
It’s been four years since this cute fish has been our everlasting friend. It’s also been four years since the first time his innocent smile mesmerized us. So let’s show him that we do remember this special day! Let him know that we are forever grateful for the day he was born into this world. Let him realize that we are even more thankful for the day he got into Super Junior! May he always be the rising star! Let’s give him our love, ELFs!

So it’s a special day for the magnae of the family, Henry Lau. We have watched him transform from a playful little boy in SJ-M “Me” to a seductive hottie with glasses in “Super Girl”. It’s been a tough months, or even years for Henry to try to fit into the Super Junior family with all the controversy. Please continue to support him as he deserves to be treated the same way like other members… why??
We never knew a guy with violin can be THATTT sexy attractive!

ELF’s War is a project initiated by kELFs (Korean ELFs) months ago just a few days after the M!Net 20’s Choice 2009 event. The goal is for us, ELFs, to buy Super Junior albums on the scheduled date, which is on October 11 – 15, 2009.
How did it all begin?
It was assumed that kELFs felt that they were cheated by M!Net on the Mnet 20’s Choice 2009 award, which is similar to “Teen Choice Awards”. Fans in their 20’s were given the chance to vote for their idols in the korean culture online and the final results would be treated as part of the winners determination. Super Junior was nominated in two categories, which were “Hot Performance” and “Hot Online Song” (Sorry, Sorry). Unfortunately, they weren’t presented as the winner in either of the categories. The result had definitely intrigued SJ fans to check the final result of the poll just before it was closed… and guess what…?!
Super Junior was leading in BOTH of the categories..! So how did 2NE1 and 2PM appear as the winner instead? Probably because judges held 50% of the final words… but recall the fact that SM artists were all banned by M!Net due to a conflict arose earlier in the year. None of the SM Artists were present at the award ceremony and none of them won any of the awards (SNSD was also a nominee in the same categories as Super Junior + YoonA in “Hot Multitainer” category).
This MIGHT NOT be exactly the reason behind this project as they claimed this to be done merely to support the boys and make them win more awards. I’m not sure about how they count album sales there in Korea. The only thing I know is this Hanteo’s Chart.. but it appears that no one knows how exactly the calculation works.
What should we do?
According to kELFs, Hanteo only counts the sales of version A so make sure you buy “Sorry, Sorry” version A or at least have that one in your cart and add more into it as you go. Sales in YesAsia will also be counted by Hanteo, so you can get yours there.
as we’ve mentioned you can always get more than just the version A… Super Junior has been there for us whenever we need a good laugh and their songs have inspired us in many ways, so why don’t we give them something in return? PLUS: you’ll get a free shipping if you place an order of at least US$39 in total oh yeah!!
• If you live in the US, change “/global/” in the URL to “/us/”
• If you know fellow ELFs who live in the same city or country as you, you guys can get your orders sent to one address and split the shipping cost
Summary
Buy “Sorry, Sorry” version A and more of Super Junior albums within that particular time or if you’re low on cash.. you can always get your friends to help you support this project.
I do believe the instruction above is clear enough. If you aren’t sure, contact us at twelfsmail@gmail.com or reply to us at twitter.
IF YOU HAVE PAYPAL AND ARE WILLING TO SHARE ORDERS WITH FELLOW ELFs IN THE SAME CITY / COUNTRY, PLEASE LET US KNOW VIA EMAIL, TWITTER OR LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW
Projects for Yesung’s Musical and Shindong’s Birthday
In the celebration of Shindong’s 24th birthday, fans gathered supporters for a project and they sent out gifts to the birthday boy. Hmmm… Lots of food.. well, there’s no better gift than that, eh? ^^ Shin Donghee turned 25 (korean age) a few days ago, 28th of September to be exact.
The same group of fans, under the name “Dream Children” also managed to show their supports to Yesung who has been preparing for his role in musical “NamHanSanSung”. Fans are anticipating his performance which will take place on the 9th of October (it’s a week from now). The show will last for about a month, up to November 4. Again, lots of food, especially candies, were sent. As seen in the last pictures, there were only a couple of supporters yet so many gifts were collected. The joy of idols…. although they might eventually end up being shared among the other members ^^
The fans are now preparing for another project for our Lee Donghae who will be celebrating his birthday on October 15.. Let’s just wait and see what they are going to get him.

ELF Philippines Helping Hands is an administrator-directed program for providing community service and disaster relief to those in need. This program which is operating right now for the tropical storm “Ondoy” victims in the Philippines, can also assist government leaders in establishing relationships with key opinion leaders.
With the broad range of needs and services in today’s complex society, ELF Philippines could become involved in a wide variety of community activities. When the administrators and public affairs council consider which public affairs activities are most productive and beneficial to both the organization and the community, the following guidelines will prove helpful:
1. Every public affairs activity should be consistent with the Public Affairs Core Purpose to build relationships that are strategic.
2. Each activity should support an objective defined by the adviser and the council.
The following activities below have proven to be helpful to DPAs around the world.
a. DINNERS FOR TEN
Experience has shown that genuine local relationships can be built with a concept called “Dinners for Ten”. Just as it sounds, invite about ten strategically picked guests for dinner. Generally held in a home, these dinners provide an excellent forum to not only get to know one another, but enable directors of public affairs to meet with like-minded community residents about a subject of mutual interest or concern.
The dinners should include about five ELF Philippines representatives (public affairs council members and administrators) and about five community leaders so that ongoing relationships can be established that are mutually beneficial.
Once the dinners are held, continue to foster the relationships.
b. FAMILY VALUES AWARDS
Some public affairs councils around the world have enjoyed success by sponsoring local “Family Values Awards”. These awards represent an excellent opportunity for us to honor those who have defended or strengthened the family in their area. Microsoft Power Point presentations on the family have often been used in conjunction with the awards presentation.
When properly planned and executed, the “Family Values Award” activity allows the organization to reach out to VIPs in the community, draw attention from the media, and ultimately convey to the world the God’s message that the family is the eternal component in His plan for our salvation.
c. ONE-ON-ONE VISITS
ELF Philippines benefits from well-planned visits with local community leaders. The visits should be relevant and appropriate so that ongoing relationships can be established that are mutually beneficial.
For example, if you are trying to build acquaintances with local city leaders, you might want to meet with the mayor, city council members, commissioners, chief of staff, and other officials.
Relationships need to be maintained and nurtured.
Join us upon lending a helping hand.
This makes me proud to call myyself an ELF.. Even though, i can’t possibly take part in these type of activities, it’s heartwarming to see ELFs offering help to others who are in desperate need of assistance. Super Junior must be really proud to be loved by fans this thoughtful.. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, ELF PHILIPPINES! Now, where are ELFs from other countries? ~TwELFs admin

Super Junior is a South Korean boy band under SM Entertainment who has been leading the Korean music scene since 2005. Following their debut with 12 members, one additional member was introduced a year later to complete the group and have since formed 4 sub-groups. Each of the members are known for their unique talents and charms in entertaining the audiences, be it as singer, actor, MC, radio host, rapper, comedian, songwriter, model or dancer.
To date, SUJU has officially released five studio albums, with numerous singles, digital, singles, original soundtracks and live concert albums. Their third album, Sorry Sorry, released in 2009, is arguably the most critically and commercially successful album to date, selling 30,000 copies on its release day in Korea only, nabbing the #1 chart position in Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and Thailand. With only 9 active members since 2011, the group continues to defend their title as the King of Global Korean Wave.

Why I love Super Junior? I wasn’t into K-Pop when Super Junior debuted, I started noticing them only after they released Sorry Sorry (in my opinion, THE song that shot them to superstardom and got them where they are right now). My first impression of them was “Why so many members?” and “What’s with the haircut?” While watching EHB, it was then when I realized that these boys began to grow on me. They have a nonchalant approach to fame and they don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s a quality I rarely find in other K-Pop groups. I realize in Korean entertainment world, idol images are shaped and they have to maintain that, but every so often, with SJ members, their real personalities appear in interviews, variety shows, radio broadcasts and especially Super Show. They way they interact with each other make me feel like I’m watching the boys-next-door, approachable, funny, dorky and humble. I guess that imperfection shows that they are real and relatable.
Why I love TwELFs and SPL? When I first started collecting information about Super Junior, I stumbled upon several fanbases, but TwELFs stood out to my attention immediately for several reasons: quality content, good English, pleasing to the eyes & easy to navigate.Like any other new converts, I joined in the fandom bandwagon and participated with gusto especially on Trending Topic projects. I was surprised to know that TwELFs founders were still in college, because they ran a tight ship with the blog and Twitter account. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I communicated via Twitter with the founders, because they were so friendly and unpretentious.
TwELFs blog has meaty content without sacrificing entertainment value. It is informational without sounding too serious and at the same time, provides all the fun tidbits for fans –newly minted or veteran.
SPL is oozing with creativity (e.g. forum members referred to as Students and Super Junior members as Professors!) and over a short period of time has gained the reputation of being one of the most acclaimed international forums for ELFs. SPL keeps making changes for the better and continues to carry out credible projects for Super Junior and ELFs. SPL is a labor of love, and I salute the people behind it, who are such dedicated hard-workers.
